Hello Kaj ,

yes , its a small computerdealer here.
They make repairs too.
So i decided to order a desktop tower there and said them to
install Syllable 0.6.7.
Cause they install systems many times a day.
I want to program. Nothing else.
RED.. Unixoid OS.
Wanna try developers delight too.
However.
Why should i use many different systems in partitions or virtual ones ?
Syllable is Unix like. Damn fast. And structured.
The future language RED is also supported.

That's cool, I never heard of pre-installed Syllable computers before. Smile

Hello Kaj ,

the dektop is here.

The dealer has changed the graphical card. Not supported one.

Damned fast. 30 seconds bootup and 2 seconds shutdown time.

I think the times will be quite constant after a longer operating time

instead of the "Windows" slowdown. ( boot times be longer and longer )

In the "System Manager Manue" i can see all system hardware.

There is one dropdownmenue with "not supported unknown" devices

at first. Then there are all well known hardware devices listet.

I think "if they are normal listed" , they are supported FULL by syllable.

Thats all for now. Have to check out the system in the next time.

Then checkout "Developers Delight" ha ha

Greetings

Hans

Yes, you often have to be a bit careful about which hardware is supported, especially graphics cards.

30 Seconds boot time is too long, though, if you have it installed on hard disk. It should be around five seconds on a modern machine.
