If I start gdb and load a file it says:
/boot/atheos/home/kaj/build/gdb-6.4/./gdb/osabi.c:447: internal-error: generic_elf_osabi_sniff_abi_tag_sections: unknown OS number 5

If I ignore the error and try to run the application from within gdb the system hangs.

Is this know behavior? Can i do something about it?

Syllable 0.6.4 with latest developers delight is installed on my box.

Sorry, it's a known bug and Kelly fixed it for us, but I haven't had time yet to merge it and release a new GDB package.

Okay, no debugging at all for now. Sad Not so nice, but i have to live without it. I can wait some time and use my std::cout << debug output a little longer.

Thanks to Kelly for fixing it though. Smile

Is there any chance to see a release of a fixed gdb in near future? Writing applications without the ability to debug is not much fun. As for spare time projects in general, main purpose should be fun, not pain. So i would appreciate a shortly timed release of the fixed gdb!

(Kaj, you did see my pm, didn't you?)

Yes, I have a backlog of ports. I will work on a new developer pack after Syllable 0.6.5, say in January.

Oh, you mean a personal message here? No, didn't see anything.

Well, that notice of new personal messages is quite well hidden. I have replied to you now, but chances are you won't like it.
