To reset the configuration, delete the file /system/config/kernel.cfg, then re-create it as an empty file. I.e.:

$ rm /system/config/kernel.cfg
$ touch /system/config/kernel.cfg

When you next boot (without the disable_config=true option) the kernel will re-detect and re-write the kernel configuration file.

Thanks, I'll try it Smile

Yes. You're seeing ICMP Redirect packets which are generated by a router or gateway somewhere between your machine and the machine you're pinging. Currently the kernel doesn't bother to trap those packets and update it's routing tables, so ping tells you about them. It's harmless.[/quote]
Thanks again for the info Very Happy !

Could you email it to me (vanders@liqwyd.com). diffs are whitespace sensitive so I can't just copy & paste it off the page, sadly!

This patch hasn't been checked in yet, so I split the topic and moved it to Bugs, so we can track it.
