It's ok with VLC. I tried with the 3D cube, it's slow but it works.

COOL!!!

I yeah its slow, due to memcpy and YUV2RGB, if there was an MMX or SSE version of them it could go up to 20 frames per second.

Glad to see that you like my suggestion.

Another one: it would be great if "the tool" could have an option to record just a specific (selectable) section of the screen or a specific (selectable) window...

Output format should be MPEG1, of course.

will do so... , give me time to create a method of keeping screens and encoding them later, that will be a perfect solution , Grabbing a perticular screen part or window is reasonable.. will do.[/quote]

Well then, another loads of links that may inspire:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/libinstrudeo/ - (library) Provides the necessary logic to capture screen recordings and to process them. Includes a soap-client for the webservice at captorials.com that enables you to share your recordings.

http://camstudio.org/ - (tool) record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/glffmpeg/ - uses the video recording functionality provided by the FFmpeg library to capture content generated using OpenGL. The cross-platform library provides a minimalistic set of API to simplify the task of capturing OpenGL output to a video stream.

Hope that helps !
