Hi all,

I thought I'd come in and introduce myself. I've looked around the forums for a couple of days and given the 0.6.5 vm image a spin. I impressed by what I've seen and read so far. I get the same feeling running Syllable as I did with BeOS 5 years ago (I know they're not directly related, but I can see some influences), it's a modern OS built from the ground up with fresh ideas, free from the cruft of backwards compatibility to decades old technology.

I've done a fair bit of Java programming over the years, but only because it keeps me employed Smile I'd like to help out Syllable in some way. Haven't touched c++ since Uni but I might try my hand at writing a native app or help out with the POTM where I can.

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum as well and from Austria (well, departed from Aachen/Germany orig.). Cool
Besides Internet & webpages I was always interested in alternative systems, that s why I switched to linux and then "stumbled" across Syllable and put it on my good old AMD K6 III 450 for a test - and it s still there...
I am a complete newbie to higher programming and a bit lazy as well, but to play around with this system and try out is really fun, thanks for that.
I ll see, how far I can get!

hank Wink

Welcome, Hank. Glad you like Syllable. A K6 is a nice test machine for it. Smile
