The installation will detect and add all partitions it thinks it can boot with GRUB. AFS partitions are detected but only a simple "chainloader" entry is generated: it may be better if the installation script always generated "full" GRUB entries for AFS partitions, as that is likely to be more useful.

The installer also seems to always create a "Start Syllable from a USB device" entry even if you're installing to a non-USB device: we could in theory add some heuristics to detect the type of device being installed onto and know weather to create a USB entry or not.
