I have no way of knowing what passes for custom and protocol here, but if I don't get kicked off for this, maybe I can be useful.

I'm taking the step of joining the forum to show I am serious about committing myself to helping and, hopefully, getting Syllable to work for me. When researching the alternatives to Linux and BSD, I was drawn to what I perceive is the greater likelihood I can at least build whatever Syllable doesn't already have for me.

My particular interest is making it work on my Inspiron 4100 laptop. By no means do I intend to make a pest of myself, because I want to do what little I can to make things go better.

I am a writer. I doubt I qualify as a technical documents writer, but perhaps I can pretend I might someday get to know Syllable well enough to be a spokesman. At any rate, if I get any significant measure of what I hope to gain, you can be sure I'll be plumping Syllable on my own accord.
