I changed the partition table of the HD in order to add one swap and two ext2
new partitions, leaving the first one for Syllable. These new partitions were
intended for use with Puppy Linux on a frugal installation and using the
Syllable's Grub to boot it.

The big problem came when the Syllable's Grub didn't find the boot ext2 partition
correctly. The type of file system was detected but Grub failed (error 2) loading
the vmlinuz archive. As second option, I can install another Grub and make the
chainloader thing, but using one Grub makes things more easy.

After a lot of searches on Google and study the Grub manual (which helps nothing
with the error 2 issue) I found the solution and where the bug was.
Syllable Grub is not patched to support the current default ext2/ext3 inode size,
which is of 256 bytes. Syllable's Grub only can deal with 128 bytes.

So the solution is very simple, format the Linux boot partition with 128 bytes
and Grub works ok (http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/tutorials/6480/1/):

mkfs.ext2 -I 128 /dev/sda3

The best thing of this is that I can mount that 128 inode size ext2 partition
in Syllable correctly in read mode. I can copy files from it to the local afs
without problems. The another ext2 partition with 256 bytes of inode size fails.

Smile
