Hello ,

want to mount a usb stick.

The descprition in the welcome.html is to mount it with the right
mouse button in the "Disk Menue".

There is always the message "Could not mount not such file or directory"

Can everyone give some help what exactly is to write step by step
to mount a USB Stick.

Greetings
Hans

ok , i have to make a directory as "mounting point"first.

Any suggestions in what folder the directory might be created ?

Can anyone provide a step by step. short instruction.

1. creating the file for mounting point (Folder)
2. insert the usb stick
3. open the "Disk"menue.
4. Type in the mounting point file etc.

such like in this style for absolute beginners.

This is a quick and pleasant task for a prof in unix. Takes only seconds.

Greetings
Hans

It should be automatic from right-clicking in any filer window, as the Welcome document says. If you have to make a folder manually, something is wrong.

Making a folder on the command line and mounting a disk or partition is almost the same as on Unix systems such as Linux. You can make it anywhere, except if you do it in the filesystem root, it will be gone after rebooting, because the root is in a RAM disk.

Problems with USB mounting are often due to bugs in the USB 2 driver. You can disable that in the boot parameters, so a USB 1 driver is used instead.

In general, on many machines you have to disable SMP, or in fewer cases, ACPI. Problems with those are general reliability problems and can easily affect USB or the boot duration.

These parameters are easy to test with the live CD before installation.
